SURAT (GUJARAT),Nov 25: Union Minister and BJP Election Co-Incharge for Gujarat, Dr Jitendra Singh said here today that Surat will expose Rahul Gandhi’s hollow claims that  the industrial community of Surat, comprising mainly of textile and diamond traders, as well as the Pattidar community are going to turn the tables against BJP and in favour of Congress Party.
Dr Jitendra Singh, who held a joint meeting of the BJP candidates contesting all the twelve Assembly seats of Surat city, told the media persons after the meeting that there is not a single Assembly constituency in Surat city where BJP should feel nervous on any account. Citing example, he said, in Varachha which has nearly 70% voters from Pattidar community, people came out in support of BJP rally in such a huge number that there was a traffic jam in the whole city.
Making a dig at Rahul Gandhi, Dr Jitendra Singh said, the Congress Vice President is banking upon Surat for a Congress victory possibly because his party has no ground workers to give him the real feedback.  He said, Rahul Gandhi is placing his hopes on textile industrialists and jewellers of Surat without realizing that the entire business community of Gujarat including Surat, are mature enough to understand that their business interests can only be protected by a BJP government.
Replying to media query about Rahul Gandhi’s allegation that unemployment has increased in Gujarat under BJP government, Dr Jitendra Singh said, either the Congress Vice President is ill-informed or he has engaged wrong persons to write his script who do not do enough of study before preparing the talking points for him.  He said, the revolutionary transformation witnessed by Gujarat under Narendra Modi, with inprecedented generation of revenue and employability, is today a role model for the whole country.
Dr Jitendra Singh also took a review of arrangements for a mega public rally to be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Surat city on Monday and said, this will  be an icing on the cake.
Dr Jitendra Singh also briefed the media persons about special arrangements made for listening to Prime Minister Narender Modi’s Radio Broadcast “Mann Ki Baat” tomorrow in different Assembly constituencies in the presence of top national leaders of BJP. He said, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will be present during the “Mann Ki Baat” broadcast in Surat(West) constituency while he himself will be present at Udhna Assembly constituency. Similarly, he informed that Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will attend “Mann Ki Baat” at Majura Assembly constituency while Delhi State President Manoj Tiwari will be present at Choryasi Assembly constituency.
