SRINAGAR: Minister of State for Transport, Sunil Kumar Sharma today paid a surprised visit to Parimpora, Srinagar and inspected the Cargo Division of Jammu & Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation (JKSRTC).
The Minister reviewed the functioning of the Division and also interacted with the officers and officials there. He issued on the spot instruction to the concerned authorities for preparation of comprehensive plan for upgradation of infrastructure, manpower and working of the Division.
He emphasized on using latest technologies and providing improved services to the masses on modern lines. He also issued instruction for reconciliation the office record on regular basis to ensure greater transparency.
The Minister directed the Managing Director, JKSRTC to expedite the work on ongoing project for the establishment of Driving Institutes at Parimpora, Srinagar for which the Union Minister of Road and Transport has already released the funds. He also directed the concerned officers of JKSRTC to accelerate the procedure of auction of old vehicles. The Minister also visited the office of Board of Inspection (BoI) and Office of the Regional Transport Office (RTO) Kashmir. He also interacted with the general public and listened to their grievances. He assured redressal of their genuine demands as early as possible.
Sunil Sharma issued on the sport direction to the RTO to display sign boards of online services being provided by the Motor Vehicle Department regarding deposition of fee etc. He also issued instruction to the concerned to create awareness in the general masses about the online services provided by the Department through print, electronic media and social media.
The issue of HSRP and fitness of vehicle was also put-forth before the Minister; he assured that necessary steps shall be taken soon to redress the grievance.
The Minister was accompanied by Vice Chairman, JKSRTC, Managing Director, JKSRTC and other senior officers of the Department.
