KISHTWAR, Oct 4: Minister of State for Transport (Independent Charge), Revenue, PWD, Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Agriculture Production and Youth Services and Sports Sunil Sharma today laid foundation stone of double lane Steel Truss Bridge being build over river Chenab here at Bhandarkot.
The upcoming bridge would connect Pakal Dul and Bursur projects, the work on which is going to start shortly.
The foundation laying ceremony was attended by DDC Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana, MD CVPP M S Babu, G M Pakal Dul S H Zargar, SSP Kishtwar Abrar Chowdhary, district and sectoral officers besides staff and public of the area.
CVPP private Ltd will execute the bridge at an estimated cost of Rs 7 crore. On the occasion, Sharma said that work on four mini hydro electric projects proposed for Paddar and Marwah would also be started soon.
He further said that the macadimization work of Bhadarkot to Kishtwar road is also being started in the coming days. He appealed to the people to cooperate with administration and come forward for participatory planning in developmental process. He also urged upon them to cooperate with the administration to keep check on corruption.
