KISHTWAR Apr 27: In a major step towards good governance and improving delivery of basic services at the doorstep of common masses, Minister of State for Revenue and R&B Sunil Sharma today launched project MDAD (Mission Delivery At Doorstep) during a programme held at Government High School Pochhal in Kishtwar. Under the project, Revenue Department will provide the PRCs, RBA and caste certificates at schools.
Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Mohammed Javed Khan, ADDC, ACR, ACD, CEO, Tehsildar Kishtwar, other senior officers and prominent citizens were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Sunil Sharma said that this project which is being implemented on pilot basis in Kishtwar, will be extended to whole State.
He said that this will not only revolutionize the whole working of Revenue Department but only strengthen the faith of people in the state institutions. “The revenue officials will visit the schools with their records and then match school record of children and prepare their certificates. This will ensure greater transparency in issuance of these certificates and at the same time the children and their parents will not suffer unnecessarily, “he added.
On the occasion, the Minister distributed 100 PRCs, RBA and Caste certificates among the school children.
Later, Mr Sharma also chaired a meeting at DC Office. MLC Firdous Tak DC, ADDC, SP and senior district officers attended the meeting. The representatives of all major political and social organizations were also present in the meeting .
The participants highlighted various important issues being faced by the people. Most important being the condition of Batote-Kishtwar Road, health, education, shortage of essential commodities and rural infrastructure. The Minister gave a patient hearing to all the grievances and assured that the developmental needs of the people will be fulfilled on priority.
Pointing towards the damages to the national highway and other roads due to recent heavy snowfall and rains, he said that it has become a challenge and has been already handed over to National Highway Authority of India. Survey and subsequent mobilization of men and machinery will be done in a time bound manner.
He assured that new alignment of Sudh Mahadev Marmat Doda is going to be a reality and lift drinking water scheme is being augmented, which can increase its capacity by 4 lakh gallons per day to improve water supply in the area.
One additional lift will also be constructed to meet the shortfall of drinking water. Sharma further said that work on Pakal Dul Project will start soon and will give boost to employment generation in the district.
