Sumo operators demand special package

POONCH, June 17: Tata Sumo Drivers Union Mendhar has urged upon the J&K UT authorities to provide special ecomonic package to the Sumo operators as they and their families are facing starvation due to lock down over Corona pandemic.
President of the Union, Kafeel Khan said that there are about 1500 Tata Sumos operating in Mendhar Sub Division alone. Due to non-operation during last about three months now due to lock down, their families are facing starvation. The Government must provide some financial assistance to these people who are unable to feed their families.
Khan said some youth have taken loans from the bank and are running their own vehicles but now they are unable to pay the loan installments. Some relief must be provided by them from the Government side. The Banks should be directed not to harass them for the loan installments, Khan maintained.
