LOS ANGELES, Feb 4: Media mogul Sumner Redstone has resigned as the executive chairman of US TV network CBS.
The 92-year-old will be replaced by the company’s long-serving CEO, Leslie Moonves, said the Holly Reporter,
Redstone, who has been battling poor health in recent months, stepped down early this week and was appointed chairman emeritus.
His daughter, Shari Redstone, will continue to serve as vice chairman – a role she has held at CBS since 2005.
Announcing his new position at CBS, Moonves said, “I am honoured to accept the chairmanship of this great company. I want to thank Sumner for his guidance and strong support over all these years. It has meant the world to me.” (PTI)
