JAMMU, June 3: Government today ordered cancellation of summer vacation of faculty members of Government Medical College and Associated Hospitals (GMC&AH), Jammu.
“In the interest of patient care and administration, it is hereby ordered that the summer vacation of faculty members in GMC&AH Jammu are hereby cancelled for the year 2020 due to prevailing circumstances arising out of COVID-19 pandemic, which has been declared as a public health emergency,” said an order issued today by Officiating Principal, GMC Jammu, Dr Ashutosh Gupta.
The order mentioned that the decision has been taken to provide uninterrupted services to the patients as the COVID-19 Pandemic has put increased work load on public health care system and services of doctors/health care personnel are paramount to handle such an unprecedented health crisis
