JAMMU, Nov 16: Renowned artist, Suman Gupta of J&K has been invited to show his latest work based on the life and teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji at a major group show in New Delhi.
A month long show titled ‘My Nanak’ is being organized by Gallery Nvya in connection with 550th birth centenary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji in which many artists from all over India shall be showcasing their specially created art works for this occasion. The show will commence on November 24, 2019.
Suman Gupta’s specially created sensitive work in magic realism for this great occasion evokes the mythic and mystical with birds and animals as integral part where Guru Nank Dev Ji has been shown standing in the mystical twilight and looking towards horizon with his folded hands as if in direct connection with Almighty and surrounded by the flora and fauna which creatively reinvents a visual vocabulary and further stimulates the viewer’s skills of imagination.
Gupta’s painting successfully invokes art’s emotive nature, its capacity to make people feel the pathos and waste of worldly conflict, and help instill a desire and commitment to end conflict and work with love and peace for the humanity.
