Just analysing deeply the scenario surfacing, of late, in respect of target killings of innocents including attacks on security forces coupled with appearing of threat posters and hatemongering material , fresh attempts of recruiting gullible young persons in the ranks of militant organisations even though resisted and openly opposed by the family members in the valley and now the strategy stretched so brazenly to the outskirts of Jammu in Sunjuwan, it can be seen that a larger and a deeper conspiracy to cause widespread disturbances in the entire UT of Jammu and Kashmir is active and promoted in an organised way. The timing of all such terror related violence coinciding with the visit of the Prime Minister to Jammu , need to be taken very seriously . Terrorists backed , promoted , trained and indoctrinated from across the border cannot be allowed to choose the timing, the place , the target and the strategy of heaping death and destruction continuously for years and decades with the conventional ways of fighting the menace with encounters and similar operations but the need has arisen to go beyond and take on effectively the source itself.
We are quite convinced with the narrative and the claims made by the UT administration as well as the police authorities about the efforts put in to fight Pakistan sponsored militancy and associated violence due to which the menace has been contained and curbed to a larger extent but it appears that no sooner there is a perceptible improvement in the situation which is manifest, among other factors , in the unusual footfall in tourists and the business and other activities doing all normally and smoothly in the UT , than there is a sudden spurt in acts of violence by employing newer strategies by militants in order to keep the pot simmering. The attempt of suicide bomber attack in Sunjuwan Jammu , the manner, the pattern, the method and the design of such an attempt of attack cannot be taken but very seriously . How the terrorists martyred one police officer and injured five others in a nefariously executed gun battle , the rattling of which scared the inhabitants of the area, needs to be not taken just a routine attack that Jammu and Kashmir has been witnessing for over three decades in a row .
Just it can be seen as to how the terrorists believed to have been from the banned terror outfit Jaish-e- Mohammed chose to attack a bus in the wee hours of the morning at 4.15 am in which Central Industry Security Forces (CISF) personnel were travelling which led to breaking out of an encounter in the area. It is, however, a matter of satisfaction that the Police which otherwise is on high alert on account of the PM’s scheduled visit to Samba Jammu had already got the inputs about the movement of terrorists in the area who were on a satanic suicide mission and , as such, had already surrounded the area at midnight. However, during the gun battle, the two terrorists got eliminated in the encounter right in Sunjuwan who subsequently were found wearing fidayeen vests. They were also carrying energy drinks and food indicating intentions of a long drawn gun battle and a sure suicide mission. There are certain pertinent points to be delved deep into being quite relevant to the issue. Wherefrom these terrorists armed to the hilt succeeded in entering and subsequently surfacing in Sunjuwan area. How could they carry, with quite ease, rocket grenades like ammunition and trying to secure a safe base in a house to attack from and to keep it prolonged as most probably they wanted to use the family members of the house as their shields. It goes all to the credit of the police to safely take out the family members from the rear of the house so as to take on the terrorists who otherwise were on a spree of firing indiscriminately. Who provided them shelter and other logistics as it is not that their sneaking in and attacking took place spontaneously and simultaneously. Can in this connection , the angle of the presence of number of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis be not looked into?
