Sugar futures remain weak on higher supply

NEW DELHI, Oct 18:  Sugar prices dropped further by 0.56 per cent in futures trade today as speculators reduced their exposure amid higher supplies at the physical markets.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, sugar for delivery in December drifted further lower by Rs 20 or 0.56 per cent to Rs 3,530 per quintal with an open interest of 14,240 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by participants coupled with ample stocks on higher supplies from mills in the physical market kept sugar prices down at futures trade. (PTI)
