JAMMU, Dec 23: DDC member Suchetgarh, Taranjit Singh Tony here today claimed non availability of free ration under government scheme-PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana as announced by the PM Modi.
A handout stated that a delegation of Ration Dealer Association Suchetgarh comprising 135 dealers, led by Tony and Sarabjeet Singh Kala, president Ration Dealer Association Suchetgarh called on Divisional Commissioner, Raghav Langar and apprised him of non-availability of ration at the border village.
The delegation also submitted a memorandum to the Divisional Commissioner.
Kala apprised the Divisional Commissioner that an official of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department was harassing ration dealers of border belt and collects money for releasing monthly ration quota.
He claimed that the Department is releasing monthly ration quota of Suchetgarh but surprisingly it is not reaching the border belt.
DDC member, Tony said, since the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, the people of all sections of the society have been economically hit and instead of showing sympathy some officials of the Department are harassing ration dealers. “On one hand PM Modi and J&K LG, Manoj Sinha have announced free ration to the people under PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana scheme but on the other hand the corrupt officials are harassing people,” he alleged.
The DDC member also appealed to LG’s Advisor, Farooq Khan to look into the matter.
