Successive Govts did nothing for people in J&K: Sood

POONCH, Aug 6: Some prominent people holding important responsibilities joined BJP, who were welcomed into the fold party by J&K Prabhari, Ashish Sood, in the presence of J&K BJP vice-president and district Poonch Prabhari, Varinderjeet Singh, J&K BJP general secretary, Vibodh Gupta and other local leaders at Surankote near here, today.
It was a shot in arm for BJP, when Surankote Municipality Committee vice-president, Sanjay Kesar, independent councilor, Sunita Khajuria and Sanatan Dharam Sabha president, Surankote, Subash Khajuria, joined the party along with a large number of their supporters.
Ashish Sood, on this occasion said that during the last seven years, a wave in favour of BJP is seen in entire length and breadth of the country and in J&K too. The people have realised that the successive Governments here did nothing in matters related to development and public welfare and remained focused on promoting own interests.
He said that the people are best judge and they have now themselves concluded that the BJP Government under Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has launched several welfare schemes for the socio-economic upliftment of various sections of the society.
He said number of mega projects like construction of roads & bridges, air and rail connectivity, power projects, besides prestigious academic, technical and health institutions were either completed or are near completion. This all has sent a clear message that the only party which is concerned for the nation and its people is BJP.
Varinderjeet Singh, in his address said that the people in border district of Poonch are joining BJP in large numbers because of their resolve to defeat such dispensations which have caused more harm than serving any benefit in the past.
Vibodh Gupta said that the twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch have seen the misrule of Congress, NC and PDP and people are fed up with the non-seriousness of these parties towards real development and welfare of the masses. He said that the BJP is attracting the people in large number only because of its pro-nation, pro-development policies and programmes.
BJP spokesperson Sunil Gupta, Poonch district president Mohd. Rafiq Chisti, district general secretary Rajesh Gupta were also present on the occasion.
