Subsidised Helicopter service starts between Srinagar-Drass

SRINAGAR: The first ever subsidised Helicopter service was started on Tuesday between Srinagar and Drass in Ladakh region for the convenience of the locals.

An official spokesperson here this evening said that two sorties to and fro were flown to airlift the passengers from Drass to Srinagar through Pawan Hans Limited subsidised Helicopter services. The service is run by the State Government.

Last month, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan already started the subsidised helicopter services on routes of four districts Leh, Kargil, Kupwara and Bandipora to ensure hassle-free journey of locals from snow bound and cut-off areas. “These sorties will take off from Srinagar airport at 0930 hrs as per the already notified schedule, except Sunday.

He said that Tourist Reception Centre (TRC) Srinagar has been designated as the ticket counter in Srinagar. “The tickets would also be available at the respective offices of the Additional Deputy Commissioners and Sub District Magistrate (SDM) of these districts,” he said. (AGENCIES)
