SRINAGAR, Aug 3: To review the works in rural areas to be carried out under convergence programme of Rural Develo-pment Department (RDD), the District Development Commis-sioner (DDC) Kupwara Khalid Jehangir today convened a meeting of officers of different departments.
The SDC and the departmental heads briefed the DDC about their action plan worked out in their jurisdiction with RDD’s convergence plan. Threadbare discussion were held with valuable suggestions of irrigation, sericulture, agriculture, fisheries, horticulture, PHE, education, youth service and sports, health, RDD, NRLM, handicrafts and handloom departments.
DDC asked the concerned executing agencies to submit their action plan within two days under convergence programme jointly with the RDD for technical assistance. He also directed the concerned to raise infrastructure under capacity plan which can be implemented and thrust was given for construction of foot bridges, sports playgrounds, plantation, flood protection activity, sanitation works, zamindari khuls under convergence programme so that better infrastructure be provided as per the requirement of the public.
DDC directed the District Panchayat Officer and DDOs to maintain cleanliness in their areas as the anti-polythene drive is under implementation in rural and urban areas.
