JAMMU, Apr 29: Daughter of a Subedar was awarded today by General Officer Commanding, Ferozpur Cantt for showing presence of mind and averting a tragedy, which could take place due to fire.
As per Army spokesperson, Aishwarya Laxmi (12), daughter of Subedar Santosh and a class 8th student of Army Public School, Ferozpur Cantt, witnessed a fire starting in the MES yard at around 05:40 pm on April 27.
The girl after showing presence of mind informed Army authorities about it.
The Fire tenders from Army and Civil Administration controlled the fire in time and saved property worth lakhs.
General Officer Commanding, Ferozpur Cantt visited the Army Public School and awarded Aishwarya for showing presence of mind and her prompt action to avert a major tragedy.
The father of the girl is also posted as Subedar at Ferozpur Cantt.
