MENDHAR, Jan 7: The people today found some sub-standard/ rotten food items lying in a nullah at some distance from the ICDS store here today.
Some people noticed, over two dozen of Dalda Ghee packets weighing one kilogram each wrapped in a gunny bag, a large quantity of rotten rice and grams dumped at the nullah site and informed the Naib Tehsildar and police. A large number of people gathered there. The officials also arrived there. The people apprehended that some staff members of the ICDS Mendhar over night dumped this material in the nullah clandestinely before the arrival of the inquiry committee members to the town today from Poonch.
Meanwhile, out of the four, only two members of the inquiry committee reached Mendhar town today to record the statements of the concerned people and conduct probe into the recovery of huge quantity of sub-standard /expired nutrition items in the ICDS stores at Mendhar. I/C ADC Poonch, Shafiq Ahmed is the chairman of this committee.
