JAMMU, July 18: The students of Govt Higher Secondary School, Kalsiyan and people of the area today locked the school and held strong  protest demonstration against the school authorities for the alleged misconduct of some teachers with the girl students of the school.
The students along with their parents and other youth of the area came out on the road this morning and put a lock on the main gate of the school at around 8 AM. They continued their protest  up to 11 AM outside the main gate of the school. They were demanding shifting of entire staff of the school.
The villagers alleged that one of the teachers  allegedly kidnapped a former class 12th student  of the same school and then solemanised marriage with her secretly.  There are several  complaints of misconduct  by  PET and another subject teacher  of  the school   but Principal has taken no action against them. They alleged that even a male teacher has retained the key of  girl toilet with him and  girls hesitate to get the keys from the male teacher when needed.  The  people demanded action against these teachers and also shifting of entire staff.
Village Sarpanch  Bahadur Nath and  Naib Sarpanch Madan Singh were leading the protest. Later, SDPO Nowshera Mohd Nawaz and SDM Harbans Lal reached there. They talked to the agitating villagers  and to some staff members. Later, the dharna was lifted by people.
Meanwhile,  DC Rajouri directed CEO Nowshera to hold inquiry against the teachers and submit a report to him within seven days so that action under law is taken against them.
