DODA, Sept 23: Students of Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Bharat of Education Zone Ghat here have expressed resentment over the shortage of teaching and non-teaching staff in their school.
Locals of the area informed that GHSS Bharat is being run by a staff of 22 while there are 37 posts of teaching and non-teaching staff sanctioned for the institution.
They said that 15 posts are lying vacant since long and there is shortage of lectures in GHSS Bharat where about 253 children are currently studying,” they further said adding that there were four dedicated lecturers running medical, non-medical and arts stream but unfortunately two of them are transferred without any replacement and this has left the students to suffer.
More locals claimed that parents are worried for their wards especially girls as most of them belong to poor families.
They urged upon LG J&K, DC Doda and CEO Doda to stop transfers of local teachers until vacancies in GHSS Bharat are filled.
The locals have threatened protest if proper staff is not restored to the school soon.
