JAMMU, Feb 15:  Managing Director, J&K Police Housing Corporation, A. K. Choudhary today received a group of students at PHQ, who had gone for 12 day Bharat Darshan Tour.
The tour was organised under JKP’s Civil Action Programme and was flagged off on February 3, 2016 by Director General of Police.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Choudhary said that the students for the tour were drawn from various districts of Kashmir and Jammu provinces.
He said students visited different historical places including Raj Ghat, Red Fort, Qutub Minar, Rajpath, Jantar-Mantar and India Gate in New Delhi, Aga Khan Palace, Snake Park in Pune, Gate Way of India and Nariman Point in Mumbai, besides other places in Jammu, Delhi and Goa.
Mr. Choudhary said that such tours are aimed to provide an opportunity to the students of far-flung areas to see modern developments in science and technology in the country. He said such tours help them gain knowledge about the rich history and culture of the nation. The interaction with personalities and different groups also help the students to shape their career, said Mr. Choudhary.
The tour was coordinated by Commandant of IRP 17th Battalion, Roop Raj and was also accompanied by a team of officers of the Battalion.
Students on the occasion shared their views about the tour and thanked JKP for facilitating outside State tour. They said that their dream to visit different parts of the country has been realized.
Among others, the function was attended by IGPs, Yoginder Koul, Deepak Kumar and MA Ganai, AIGPs, Dr. M. Hissab Mughal, Sheikih Mehmood, Tahir Sajad, Kulbir Singh and S. Zulfikar Azad, Comman-dants of Armed and IRP Bns. and other police officers.
