RAJOURI, Jan 16: Students from local Govt Degree College boycotted their classes and held strong protest demonstration against the PDD authorities for very poor supply of electricity here today.
A large number of students from different classes today came out on the road and started protest march towards city market. After passing through main bazaar, shouting slogans against PDD authorities they reached Gujjar Mandi Chowk and started protest demonstration. They sat on dharna in the middle and stopped movement of traffic.
They disrupted movement of traffic for over an hour. They demanded that power supply be improved in the town.
Later, ASP Rajouri Shiv Kumar Chouhan, SHO and Tehsildar reached the spot. They assured the agitating students to take up the issue with the concerned PDD authorities. The students then lifted dharna.
