JAMMU, Jan 16: In a landmark judgment, Principal Sessions Judge Jammu, Kartar Singh today awarded rigorous imprisonment for life to Ajit Singh alias Kaka, Jatinder Singh alias Kala and Paramjeet Singh alias Pammi, Milkha Singh and Ajeet Kumar alias Jeeta in the much publicized Narwal double murder case.
After hearing Special Public Prosecutor GS Charak appearing for the State whereas battery of lawyers appearing for the accused persons, Principal Sessions Judge awarded rigorous imprisonment for life and fine of Rs 10,000 each to Ajit Singh alias Kaka, Jatinder Singh alias Kala and Paramjeet Singh alias Pammi, Milkha Singh and Ajeet Kumar alias Jeeta.
In default of payment of fine, they will further undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of one year each. They are further sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of two years each for the commission of offence falling under Section 148 RPC and fine of Rs 3000 each. In default of payment of fine, they will further undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of six months.
The accused Ajit Singh alias Kaka, Jatinder Singh alias Kala and Paramjeet alias Pammi were further sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of two years each in proof of the offence falling under Section 4/25 Arms Act. In default of payment of fine, they will further undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of six months each.
