KATHUA, Sept 2: The students living in Hiranagar tehsil held protest against Higher Education Department for not allowing them to take admission in Girdhari Lal Dogra Memorial Government Degree College Hiranagar.
The students assembled outside the college and held protest. They raised against the Higher Education Department and in favour of their demand of admission in Part Ist.
The protesting student also met Principal of the College and apprised him about their demand.
The protesting student namely Pallvi, Anita, Shikha and Abby Kumar told that last year 640 students got admission in GL Dogra Memorial Government Degree College, Hiranagar, but this year only 320 students were given the admission. Some of the students are meritorious students and they have been denied admission in the college, they added.
The College Principal also showed the order issued by Higher Education Department for allowing admission to only 320 students in the college.
The students alleged Higher Education Department is playing with their future.
DDC member Hiranagar Abhinandan Sharma also met with Degree College Authority and asked them to admit all poor students otherwise the students could comes on the road in coming days. He also demanded admission to all the deserving students so as to save their future.
