Student assaults teacher after being stopped from cheating

JAMMU, Mar 21: A student of SPMR College of Commerce allegedly assaulted a woman teacher when she stopped him from copying during the ongoing examination of Bachelors Degree Part I, here.
The accused student, identified as Tawanpreet Singh, also tore his answer sheet and of some other students before fleeing from the Examination Centre.
The trouble erupted when the teachers stopped Tawanpreet from using mobile phone and blue tooth for cheating in the exam.
A case under Sections 341 and 323 of RPC has been registered against the student at Nowabad Police Station after a formal complaint in this regard was lodged by the college authorities.
According to police, simultaneous raids were being conducted to arrest the accused, who was also involved in stabbing of a class 12th student on the eve of New Year near the Press Club Jammu.
