JAMMU, Dec 12: Minister for CAPD and Transport, Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan today said that stringent action would be initiated against those who are involved in misappropriation of Government ration and funds.
He said Government will not tolerate such actions and anybody found indulging in corrupt practices will be punished severely. He also directed for intensifying recovery process from such officials and officers who have done such acts and caused loss to the Government exchequer.
The Minister said this while chairing a review meeting of CAPD Department here today.
Taking a detailed review of overall functioning of the department, the Minister directed both the Directors of CAPD to further streamline the distribution of essential commodities in every nook and corner of the state. He stressed the need for strengthening the monitoring mechanism for achieving better results. He directed for constituting special squads to oversee the supply of essentials, especially in rural and far-flung areas. He directed them to maintain close liaison with the FCI and Oil companies for ensuring timely supply of essentials.
While reviewing stocking position of essential commodities in the Valley, the Minister asked the Director CAPD, Kashmir to personally monitor the supply on day to day basis and ensure buffer storing of these commodities in view of the winter season.
The issue of implementation of Food Security Act which has been enacted by the Centre Government was also discussed in detail and Minister directed the Secretary CAPD to work out the necessary data so that the Government can take a decision on the issue. He directed for completing the exercise at the earliest.
The Minister issued instructions to the concerned for taking more reformative measures to improve the essential services for the consumers. He directed for activating the existing Grievances Cells to deal with the complaints of the consumers on priority.
