SRINAGAR, July 29: Speaker Legislative Assembly, Mohammad Akbar Lone on Sunday said that Government has launched several gigantic projects for the overall development of all three regions of the State. He said that focused attention has been given to upgrade the basic amenities like health services, road connectivity, education, power, drinking water and civic amenities in the rural and neglected areas.
The Speaker was addressing a public gathering at Puthar in Pattan area.
Highlighting several landmark initiatives taken by the Coalition Government, Mr. Lone said that it is because of the efforts of the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah that a good number of universities, colleges and hospitals established in the State which speaks itself the success story of the Government. He appealed the people to strengthen the hands of Omar Abdullah in making the Jammu and Kashmir a developed, progressive and prosperous State. He asked the people to come forward and avail the benefits of several welfare schemes launched by the Government.
Responding to the demands of the locals, Mr. Lone assured them that their all genuine demands will be taken up with the concerned quarters for appropriate disposal.
Minister of State for Roads and Buildings Javed Ahmad Dar, in his address, said that the several welfare schemes have been launched in the State with an objective to improve the living standard of the people particularly in the rural and far-flung areas. He said Government’s main focus was to strengthen the existing infrastructure in every important sector to ensure improved facilities to the people. He said Government was fully committed to provide better road connectivity in every nook and corner of the State, adding that the field functionaries have been directed to conduct a detailed survey of the far flung areas and identify the uncovered habitations and formulate the projects for the purpose so that the execution was undertaken at the earliest.
Responding to the demand of upgradation of Puthar road, Mr. Javeed said the road will be development on priority.
Former Member Parliament, Abdul Rashid Shaheen also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the achievements of the Government.
