Stray dogs attack woman in Leh

Leh, July 31: Ladakh region had been facing serious challenging issue of increasing menace of street dogs killing two humans so far.
In January this year mother of two was brutally killed and reduced to mere skeleton by a group of stray dogs in Saspol village.
In another instance a girl of 9 years was eaten by stray dogs in Spituk village on Jan 24, 2014 thus stray dog claimed two precious lives within a year.
Today another 48 year old lady was brutally attacked by group of stray dogs this morning in Tukcha village causing her serious injuries on her face, head and leg.
Upper Leh Councilor Lobzang Nyantak in press release strongly appealed to the general people to remain quite vigilant against the growing attacks from stray dogs. He added that few persons have already lost their lives in dog attacks in the recent past and the time has truly come to think by every walks of life on this serious issue as the society is no longer safe from the menace of increasing stray dogs.
He also visited Tukcha area today to see the situation and the people who had gathered in large number expressed anguish against administration for not providing a safe and secure environment for the general people of Leh district despite of losing few precious lives.
Besides Councilor also visited the hospital to see the patient’s condition and encouraged the victim’s family members later met with the CEC Rigzin Spalbar , LAHDC, Leh and requested to take appropriate measure to avoid life threats from stray dogs in Leh district.
