Sir,
Private tuition centers, which are found in every nook and corner have become a massive social problem which needs to be immediately dealt with caution and care. There are tuition centres not only for entrance or other competitive examinations, but the students of all classes opt for tuition. Now-a-days you can see even LKG students rushing for private tuition. Some critics see this tuition culture a sort of fashion, which is blindly followed by all. But tuition culture is not merely a fashion. The students to some extent are compelled to have private tuitions as they do not get proper and satisfactory guidance in their schools and colleges. The schools which have already been the most important means of transferring the wealth of tradition from one generation, to the next are becoming the key instruments of spoiling the students and flirting their careers. Schools and colleges should cultivate in the young generation those qualities and capabilities which are of value for the well being of the country. The management of schools and colleges and the attitude of the teachers should have a deep impact upon the moulding of physiological foundation for pupils.
The ugly side of the tuition culture is that the students become more and more dependent on the notes made by the tutors. Students prefer to get ready made material for their exams. They only know the art of memorizing those notes. It makes no difference to them whether actually understand or acquire any knowledge from those notes or not . Their endeavour is to obtain more marks. The more important task of the schools and colleges should be to impart their students the knowledge of the value of drawing result themselves, so that they can apply their brain in solving the problems independently. But private tuition centres are further leaving our children handicapped.
It is therefore requested to the Minister for Education to stop these money minting shops.
Yours etc…
