In an era of Science and Technology, manual scavenging is not only an abominable practice, but also a human rights violation.
Talking about manual scanvening even after 65 years of independence is quite disgusting.
The Governments whether State or Central should have taken steps to stop this practice effectively. Every person in India has a right to live a dignified life, and it is the duty of Governments to ensure that those who have been associated with this practice live a dignified life. In this modern age, there are various means to deal with this problem. One way to overcome this problem is extend financial aid to the people who can’t yet afford sanitary latrines.
