The Chief Education Officer (CEO) Poonch has directed all the DDO’s of this district not to release the annual increments in favour of those teachers, masters and lecturers whose results were below 50 percent, while referring the order of Director School Education Jammu No: 810 DSEJ of 2016 dated: 09-02-2016.
Teacher community was expecting an appreciation from the Government for its toil and hard work,as they left no stone unturned to reach to the level of the students.
Remedial teaching, extra classes and free tuitions were taken. They did everything to streamline the education system.
The results obtained are encouraging as this time there was no copying in examination centres.
This act of stopping the annual increment alone cannot solve the problem, this will not only discourage the teachers but will also raise anti-Government sentiments.
This will demoralise the dedicated and sincere officials.
Has Government ever thought that non seriousness of the students is also a cause behind this ? These are some unasked questions. How can you hold a teacher responsible who teaches 10th and 12th classes.
Therefore, it is brought into the notice of the government to rethink over it and stop harassing the teachers community on account of poor performance.
