UDHAMPUR, Aug 12: Lambasting the harsh decision of the Government to conduct the screening test followed by the verification of the degrees of ReT teachers, Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers State president Balwant Singh Mankotia rebuked it as highly arbitrary and whimsical instance.
Addressing a press conference here today, Mr Mankotia revealed to the media that the working class of Jammu Pradesh including the daily wagers, SPOs, contractual employees and the ReT teachers had pinned high hopes from the BJP partnered dispensation but the Govt has miserably failed to live up to their expectations after coming to power.
He said that the temporary employees have been facing the wrath of the callous and discriminatory treatment doled out to them by the people sitting at the helm of the affairs and, moreover, the ReT teachers have also not been spared by this ruthless Coalition Government.
Mr Mankotia said that the Government’s decision to conduct the screening test followed by the scrutiny of the degrees of the ReT teachers is a big dent inflicted on their pride and honour. He maintained that this decision is highly nefarious, arbitrary and whimsical in nature which would only demoralize the teaching fraternity who have been rendering their services with great zeal and determination. Mankotia cautioned the Govt to revoke the obnoxious order and stop harassing the ReT teachers. He further added that if such an order was to be implemented then all the State Government employees should have been brought under the scope of this scrutiny. He said that NPP shall sit on one day ‘ hunger strike ‘ on August 17 to lodge their protest against the maltreatment meted out to the teachers.
The Ex-MLA also flayed the Govt’s policy of rationalization under which nearly 1300 schools have been closed. He said that the situation has divested the children living in remote and far flung areas from their right of education and further adding to their woes.
