JAMMU, Aug 7: Sarpanch Panchayat Halqa Joura Kalan, tehsil Thathri, Bushan Lal and president tehsil Thathri Development Front, Kuldeep Kumar Rao have jointly appealed to get the execution of work stopped on the Halaran-Joura Khurd road stretch of Kahara-Jai road project, till a fresh and genuine enquiry is conducted.
In a statement issued, they have appealed State Government, Divisional Commissioner Jammu and Deputy Commissioner Doda to personally intervene and get the execution of work stopped immediately. They further warned the authorities that if any riots erupt, the sole responsibility will be of the State Government, Divisional Commi-ssioner, Jammu and District Development Commissioner, Doda.
In this regard Chief Secretary has constituted an enquiry committee headed by Divisional Commissioner, Jammu but members of the committee instead of visiting the spot themselves have submitted a report based on the false information provided to them by the local engineers and other staff, who are basically responsible for the irregularities and deviations in the original and genuine survey of Kahara-Jai road project, the statement added.
