JAMMU, Nov 2: Police in Narwal area here claimed today that have solved a theft case within eight hours of the commission of the offence by recovering the stolen vehicle.
A police spokesperson said that a written complaint was lodged at Police Post Narwal by one Upkar Singh son of Gurbachan Singh of Rakh Badali, Udhampur, stating therein that his truck got stolen from Transport Nagar, Narwal area in Jammu District.
Acting on the written complaint, he said, a case FIR number 325/2023 under section 381 of the IPC was registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and further investigation started.
During the course of investigation, special teams of Police Post Narwal led by SDPO East Parupkar Singh, assisted by SHO Bahu Fort Inspector Shiv Dev Singh and incharge Police Post Narwal SI Lallit Sharma recovered the stolen vehicle from Bari Brahamana area and arrested the accused identified as Ravi Kumar of Neeli Nallah, Udhampur, within 8 hours of the commission of the offence, said the police spokesperson.
Further investigation into the case is underway, he added.
