DODA, Mar 16: Gandoh Police recovered stolen transformer of Power Development Department (PDD) within 9 hours and also arrested the accused.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged at Police Post Changa by lineman of PDD namely Liyakat Ali, son of Ghulam Rasool Rather of Changa Tehsil Gandoh stating that some unidentified thieve(s) have stolen the 63 KV transformer from village Dugan Soti, which was lying on the road and was to be sent to workshop in Kishtwar for repair during the intervening night of March 15 and 16 this year.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 14/2022 under Section 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Gandoh and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Police Station Gandoh led by SHO Inspector Vikram Singh under the supervision of SDPO Gandoh Shahzada Kabir Matto recovered the stolen transformer from Tawai Changa area, which was loaded in Mahindra Camper Load Carrier bearing registration number JK14H-2386.
The owner of the vehicle identified as Ghulam Hussain, son of Din Mohammad of Thaloran Gandoh District Doda, at present Chopra Shop District Udhampur was also arrested on the spot.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
