UDHAMPUR, May 15: Udhampur Police today arrested a thief and recovered the stolen motorcycle from his possession.
The accused has been identified as Sunil Kumar son of Om Parkash of Sambal Danga, near Railway Station, Udhampur.
The motorcycle, bearing registration number JK02AX-5919, owned by Deep Singh son of Babu Singh of Bali, Udhampur, was stolen by some unknown thieves when it was parked outside his house at Bali. A case FIR number 209/2019, under section 379 RPC was registered in this connection at Police Station Udhampur.
During the course of investigation, a team of Police Station Udhampur, led by SHO Vijay Singh Choudhary, zeroed in some suspects and ultimately recovered the stolen motorcycle from the accused. Police is also investigating involvement of the accused in other case of theft.
Meanwhile, Udhampur Police also seized 100 quarters of illegal liquor from an alleged bootlegger at Bus stand Udhampur. In this connection, a case under Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Udhampur.
