LOS ANGELES, Aug 25: ‘True Blood’ star Stephen Moyer will play Capt Von Trapp opposite Carrie Underwood’s Maria in NBC’s live production of ‘The Sound of Music’.
Moyer has previously worked in the Hollywood Bowl’s production of ‘Chicago’ where he played Billy Flynn.
‘The Sound of Music’ is executive produced by Neil Meron and Craig Zadan.
Beth McCarthy-Miller and Rob Ashford will serve as directors.
The production will retell the story of Von Trapp, the single father of seven children living in Austria on the cusp of World War II.
Von Trapp falls for the young governess, Maria (Underwood), whom he hires to take care of his children. (PTI)
