JAMMU, Oct 23: Shiv Sena Hindustan (SSH) today said that Rohingya refugees, who have found safe heaven in Jammu and Kashmir, pose a grave threat to the security of people in the region and should be “thrown out” of the State.
Addressing a press conference here today, State president, SSH, Pt Rajesh Kesri, said that the State Government should throw out Rohingya refugees out of the State. “They should not be allowed to set up clusters on Government or private land. It’s a risk to the security of people and the Army,” he said, adding, a very deep-rooted conspiracy is being hatched by these refugees of Myanmar.
He wondered how these refugees after crossing the Indo-Bangla border and crossing the entire country have come to Jammu. Kesri further said that the Supreme Court must allow the Government to take a decision in the wider interests of the country since some of the Rohingya have an extremist record.
“Rohingya Muslims living here are not found to be linked to any terror activity despite Lashker-e-Taiba founder Hafiz Saeed having referred to them as ‘brothers’ and spoken against their prosecution in Myanmar. But the security agencies say they may be more prone to radicalisation than Indian Muslims and could pose a threat in the future, Kesri maintained.
Asking both the Centre and the State Government to deport these foreign settlers within a month and book all those under Public Safety Act who have provided their land to them for settlement, Kesri warned to launch State-wide protests against such criminals.
