NEW DELHI, Dec 22: The Centre on Friday said the private health sector will have to come under regulation and asked the states to either adopt the model Clinical Establishment Act sent to them or bring in their own version.
”The private health services area can’t remain unregulated,” Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda said while replying to supplementary questions in the Lok Sabha.
The Health Minister said he had sent the model Act to states and they have to implement it.
On the main question about the nurses’ demand for revision of their pay scales, the Minister said the Ministry had accepted most of the demands of the All India Government Nurses Federation for which it went on strike on September 2.
The demands which were examined by the Empowered Committee were accepted and had been notified.
Moreover, the Ministry had started monthly interaction with nurses to address their grievances, he said. (UNI)
