State Taekwondo team bags 13 medals in National C’ship

JAMMU, Feb 3: Jammu and Kashmir Taekwondo Association State team bagged 13 medals including 2 gold, 3 silver and 8 bronze medals in the Taekwondo Kyorugi/Poomsae Championship held at TT Nagar Stadium Bhopal recently and the medalists qualified for the forthcoming 2nd International India Open Taekwondo Championship in the month of April- May, 2013 at Bangalore in Karnataka.
The Championship was organized by Madhya Pradesh Taekwondo Association, under the auspices of Taekwondo Federation of India.
J&K Taekwondo Association organized 15 days special pre-participation coaching camp for the said championship under the coaching of Atul Pangotra (NIS) Commonwealth medalist and also participated in the said championship and bagged gold.
Those who won medals included Atul Pangotra, gold; Sanket Sharma, gold in Junior Individual event, Brinder Manhas 1 bronze in senior Individual event and silver in senior team event, Vikrant Joshi, silver; Arvind Kumar Satti, silver; Adnan Beig, bronze; Mukta Gupta, bronze; Nitin Singh Rathore, bronze; Murtaza, bronze; Anil Khajuria, bronze; Vikas Sharma bronze and Kanav Mahajan, bronze.
