JAMMU, Feb 3: Team effort helped Jammu Cricket Club (JCC) to register a narrow win by 9 runs over Mayank Goswami Cricket Academy (MGCA) to advance in the ongoing 2nd Ravi Singh Charak Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Cantt Cricket Club at Government High School, Satwari ground, here.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, JCC scored a fighting total of 152 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 5 wickets in the process. Gurdeep Singh was the top scorer with 30 runs, while Jatinder Jasrotia and Deepak Dogra scored 29and 23 runs to the total respectively.For MGCA, Rohit and Surya bagged 2 wickets each.
In reply, MGCA fell short of 9 runs as they scored 143 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing their last wicket on the last ball of the match. Tushar and Surya scored 29 runs each, while Shubam contributed 17 runs to the total. Jatinder Jasrotia was the pick of the bowlers, who took 3 wickets by conceding 29 runs in his 4 overs, while Surya bagged 2 wickets. For his all-round display, Jatinder Jasrotia was adjudged man of the match.
