What is the fun in declaring by the State Government an award for deserving and selected persons from various fields of activity but for conferring the same publicly , one has to wait for years together? Conferment delayed is award denied , if it is said so. Such awards are declared by the State Government every year in favour of the most eligible and deserving, on the eve of the Republic Day.
There are reportedly one hundred awardees since the year 2015 from different fields of activity like Art, Literature, Sports etc but when and where they would formally be invited to get the same in a function or otherwise is neither known to them nor probably to those in the administration who are required to do it. Most probably, it appears that the Government has forgotten to do this important part of declaring of awards and which is not only astonishing but baffling. We urge the authorities to organize an investiture ceremony at the earliest to make announcement of conferring the awards meaningful and accord such awards their due value and importance.
