State Award for SDM Mahore for best electoral practices

JAMMU, Jan 23: SDM Mahore Ashwani Khajuria has been awarded State Award 2015 for the best electoral practices and Electoral Roll  Management during the last Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.
He has been chosen as best ERO/RO among all the nominees of the State by the CEO J&K and the Election Commission of India for his exceptional work relating to best Electoral Roll Management and   SVEEP activities in two constituencies – 57-Gulabgarh and 59-Gool Arnas  for generating awareness among the masses for greater participation, ethical and informed voting .
The Award has been conferred upon him as ERO  57- Gulabgarh  and 59- Gool Arnas Constituencies which registered 82.6% and 82% turn up in recent elections   from 45.05 % and 46.12 %  respectively in earlier elections of 2008 & 2009  through the adoption of  multipronged SVEEP campaigns  in these constituencies.
Besides this, he has the distinction of adding 18753 voters (11771 in 57 Gulabgarh & 6982 in 59- Gool Arnas  Assembly Constituencies  respectively thereby marking an increase of 19.50% & 22.66%  voters in both constituencies respectively. Besides this 5900 deletions (3831 & 2069 ),1019 errors were also corrected in the Electoral Rolls of these constituencies.
There has also been increase in women participation in the elections from 52.7% to 82 % in 57-Gulabgarh AC and 55.30 5 to 83 5 in 59- Gool Arnas AC. Similarly, nomadic population registered a record participation in recent elections which increased from 23 % to 82%
The award will be presented to him on the eve of National Voter Day i.e January 25,2015 at Police Auditorium,  Gulshan Ground Jammu.
