KISHTWAR, Oct 3: The Kishtwar civil society has expressed concern over the failure of the Government to look into the problems of the people of the district in general and those living in far-flung areas in particular.
The meeting, which was chaired by Congress leader and member of the civil society Kishtwar, Shamsher Singh Bhandari  said that the stoic silence maintained by the State Government over the starting of work on Ratle Hydel Project and other projects in the district has generated public resentment in the area. He said Kistwar and Doda districts which have tremendous potential of power generation to cater to the needs of the people of the State need attention in taping the same.
The meeting alleged that many far-flung areas in Kishtwar are facing the land erosion threat in Kuntwara and Drabshala belt and the administration has failed to prepare an action plan to deal with the same. The meeting said the people in these areas feel scared and the administration is totally unmoved.
The meeting demanded that attention be also paid for promotion of tourism and pilgrimage tourism in the area. Mr Bhandari informed the meeting that he along with a delegation of the people projected these demands before the PCC chief, G A Mir also.
