JAMMU, Dec 3: People’s Welfare Society (PWS) and Pensioners and Senior Citizens Welfare Society have demanded that immediate work be started on the New Ganderbal Power Project which is hanging in balance for over three decades now.
In a letter to Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti the patron of the organization Mir Ghulam Rasool Butwani said that construction of power project will solve the power crisis to some extent in the State.
He said that District Bus Stand Ganderbal which has been taken up in hand nine years back is still incomplete and work on the same be expedited, Central University Campus not functioning in Ganderbal though University is headquartered in the district.
He also demanded road widening from Pandach to Wayul and Manasbal to Barsoo Bye Pass, transport facilities from Batwani, Wakura to Sheer Pathri, construction of Yatri Niwas at Ganderbal, Cold Storage facilities at Zazoona Fruit Mandi, making water supply schemes functional, establishing of nursing training institute and medical assistant training course at Ganderbal, posting of staff in Horticulture District Office Ganderbal and Wakura PHC be upgraded as CHC.
