RAMBAN, June 2: Panthers Party’s State president and former MLA, Balwant Singh Mankotia, has asked the Government to start AIIMS OPD at Super Speciality Hospital Jammu to provide modern health care facilities to ailing patients.
He said people from far flung areas are suffering from deadly diseases and don’t afford costly treatment and start of AIIMS OPD at Jammu will cater the basic health care facility.
Leading the ‘Haq-insaaf’ yatra started for separate Jammu State, Balwant Singh Mankotia addressed series of rallies at block Gandhari, Sangaldan, Gool and Jamslan of the district.
While addressing the gathering, Mankotia made a scathing attack on ruling BJP for shifting of AIIMS hospital to Kashmir in a well planned conspiracy which was announced for Jammu region. “However, People of Jammu region launched an aggressive agitation and forced Central Government to announce another AIIMS for Jammu”, he added.
Mankotia said now ruling coalition partners are creating hurdles in establishment of this prestigious health care project by befooling people by making excuse about non-availability of suitable land.
Panthers Party president said history shows that people of Jammu region didn’t get any project without agitation and people were forced to come on roads for their rights. For AIIMS also, people were forced to launch an agitation.
“However, the announced AIIMS hospital is only on papers and more than two years have been passed and no work has been started on this project while AIIMS sanctioned in other parts of the country are now catering the need of ailing patients”, Mankotia regretted.
He said till AIIMs building is constructed, Government should start AIIMS OPD at Super Speciality Hospital at Jammu so that people from far flung areas of Ramban, Gool, Mahore, Sangaldan, Kishtwar, Doda, Poonch and Rajouri can avail the best health care facility in their own State. Mankotia demanded that on the start of Doda Medical College on June 10, AIIMS be started in Jammu for people.
