KATHUA, Aug 9: The work on issuance of entry passes by the officials at Lakhanpur was suspended for one hour after the verbal duel between the administrative staff and police took place over the issuance of passes to passengers coming from outside J&K.
Later the work was resumed with the intervention of senior officers who sorted out the matter.
The police personnel on duty accused the administrative staff of delaying the issuance of passes to people coming from outside for entry into UT, this resulted into verbal duel between the two groups and as a mark of protest the employees suspended the work for one hour resulting into a traffic jam on the National Highway.
However, DC Kathua OP Bhagat said that the issue was sorted out soon and there was some misunderstanding among the officials.
Some passengers coming form outside J&K said that they had to wait for hours in getting the entry passes at Lakhanpur . They said despite showing all willingness that passengers are ready to go for any test but they have to reach Jammu as they are working there but the employees make them to wait for hours adding to their worries and problems.
