SRINAGAR, May 12: School Sports Promotion Foundation (SSPF) has kick-started its National Talent Search and Nurture initiative 2018-19 in partnership with Sports Authority of India (SAI), here today.
The registration for educational institutes, including private and government schools, will start from May 14, 2018.
Through this initiative, talented children will be selected at the grass-root level and groomed by various tournaments and coaching camps which will be held in the current fiscal year.
The aim of the national talent hunt is to produce a long line of champions for the Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games and major sporting events.
Children Under-14 and Under-16 will be able to participate in any of the five sports-Cricket, Football, Basketball, Volleyball and Athletics.
As many as 50 SSPF coordinators, who were handed over appointment letters at a function at Youth Services and Sports Department’s Conference Hall in Srinagar, will start registering government and private schools in all 10 districts of Kashmir valley from May 14, 2018.
