Jammu, May 28: Mohan Lal Kaith, SSP Traffic Rural Jammu today visited Nowshera in district Rajouri and convened a meeting with prominent citizens and the owners of the local Transport Associations including drivers of commercial vehicles.
During the meeting, the participants raised various issues regarding smooth and hassle free vehicular movement in Nowshera and they were briefed that their grievances will be addressed on priority. Local/ transporters were advised to drive their vehicles while wearing crash helmet and seat belts for safe driving.
Transporters were asked not to indulge in overloading/ overspeeding in their vehicles for their own safety as well as safety of passengers/ general public. Kaith also advised locals not to give their children vehicles including two-wheelers to drive till they attain the age of 18.
He further stressed the general public particularly the youth folks to strengthen the hands of the officers of traffic Police Rural Jammu, so that the violators are booked under the relevant sections of Motor Vehicle Acts to avoid any untoward vehicular incidents.
