Asks youth to stay away from drugs

SAMBA, Aug 2: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Samba, Benam Tosh today inaugurated a Gym at Sports Stadium Gurha Slathia provided by J&K Police (District Samba) under Civic Action Programme (CAP) at a grand inauguration ceremony attended by hundreds of people including PRI members, prominent citizens, social workers, officers, academicians, youth and students.
He was accompanied by Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary, SDPO Vijaypur Rohit Kumar, SDPO Bari Brahmana Rahul Nagar, DySP Operations Garu Ram, DySP DAR Ajay Anand, SHO Police Station Vijaypur Tribhawan Khajuria, I/C Drug De-Addiction Centre Gurha Slathia SI Pradhuman Singh Slathia and other officers of District Police Samba.
Grand inauguration ceremony was organized jointly by the police and public to mark the occasion at which representatives of public of Gurha Slathia, prominent citizens, social workers, academicians and students thanked the Jammu and Kashmir Police for fulfilling their long pending demand of opening a Gym at Gurha Slathia which will go a long way in motivating youth to stay away from drugs and suitably conditioning their body, mind and spirit.
Those who spoke on the occasion & thanked the J&K Police for providing Gym included DDC member Sudarshan Slathia, Divisional Sports Officer Ashok Singh Jamwal, Principal Govt. Higher Secondary School Gurha Slathia Arti Gupta, Sarpanch Jitender Singh Slathia, Veer Partap Singh Slathia, Social Worker Pankaj Singh Slathia, Swati Slathia, Vanshika Slathia and Namami Slathia.
Speaking on the occasion, SSP Samba Benam Tosh congratulated the public in general and youth in particular belonging to Gurha Slathia and adjoining villages for getting Indoor Gym at Sports Stadium Gurha Slathia from Jammu-Kashmir Police under Police Civic Action Programme (CAP). He hoped that youth would stay away from drugs and would devote themselves to body-building exercises, sports activities and studies to become seasoned citizens of tomorrow with dogged determination to serve the nation in different capacities.
Benam Tosh informed that J&K Police has, earlier also, opened gyms, libraries, provided desks, books, uniforms, stationary items, bags etc. to the needy students at different places in Samba district and that police is going to organize 30 more anti-drug programmes including sports activities in near future in Samba district so as to create awareness against drug menace and to make Samba drug free.
