SAMBA, Apr 13: The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Samba, Anuj Kumar, today chaired an introductory meeting with all gazetted officers, SHOs, in charges of Police Posts (PSs) and other police officers of the district at the Conference Hall, DPO Samba. The meeting was convened to assess the security scenario and to outline priorities for effective policing in the district.
At the outset, the Additional SP Samba delivered the welcome address and gave a detailed power point presentation on the functioning of District Police Samba, along with an overview of the crime and security scenario of the district.
During the interaction, SSP Samba laid special emphasis on the ongoing Nasha Mukt Abhiyan and directed all officers to take strict legal action against drug smugglers and peddlers to effectively curb the drug menace. He further exhorted officers to take stringent action against bovine smugglers and other criminals. All officers were instructed to focus on preventive policing and ensure that habitual offenders and troublemakers are dealt strictly under the law.
The SSP directed officers to maintain proper surveillance over criminal elements and take all necessary steps to curb the activities of criminals, particularly organized crime groups and gangsters, so as to ensure that the general public feels safe and secure.
SSP Samba stressed round-the-clock alertness at NHW nakas, strengthening of border nakas, establishment of surprise joint nakas at strategic locations, intensification of patrolling and surveillance, adequate deployment at suspected drone-dropping areas and conducting random night nakas and ambushes at vulnerable locations.
The SSP also instructed officers to give special attention to clearing the pendency of under-investigation cases, expediting inquest proceedings, and ensuring the prompt apprehension of absconders.
The SSP Samba urged all officers to work with dedication, uphold public trust, and ensure proactive and people-friendly policing across the district.
