SSP Reasi visits remote areas, conducts security review

REASI, Sept 17: SSP Reasi, Shailender Singh conducted a day long visit to far flung remote areas of Basan, Thuroo, Tringa, Kund Morh and Dharmari of district Reasi.
In view of recent infiltration bids on LoC to adjoining district Rajouri, SSP Reasi conducted security review of these remote and inaccessible areas which had remained thickly infested with militancy.
The officer conducted inspections of Police Post Basan, interacted with jawans posted there, held grievances redressal camp and listened to the reports put forth by the jawans posted in these remote areas.
The SSP reviewed the preparedness of troops to tackle any untoward incident and announced appreciations and rewards for the jawans for their good works.
Enroute, Shailender also conducted public interactions with the locals. People welcome the officer on his visit to these far flung areas and put forth various issues faced on daily basis. Officer ensured that the issues pertaining to other departments shall be brought into their notice at the earliest.
People were sensitized against anti-social and anti-national elements in the area, to maintain peace and tranquility alongwith communal harmony. Further, the citizens were briefed to observe COVID-19 Appropriate Behavior and also to go for 100 percent Covid vaccination to get rid of this pandemic at the earliest.
Singh expressed concerns about the militancy related anti-national-activities in the adjoining district Rajouri and possibility of its spillover effects in district Reasi and directed the jawans to remain vigilant and proactive on this front.
Officials were briefed to work with zeal and dedication to curb the menace of bovine smuggling, narcotics and other crime and take special care about security of vital installations and religious places. They were also instructed to work for maintenance of communal harmony, brotherhood and peace in the area.
